Are you wondering who the people are behind Genealogy Journey?
Jean Wilcox Hibben; PhD, MA, former So. Cal. college speech professor (MA – Speech Communication; PhD – Folklore), is a national speaker and author. She is the former director and current staff trainer for the Corona, CA Family History Center, has worked on background research for two genealogy television programs, is a former Board Certified Genealogist (for 10 years), has written four courses for the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, and hosts podcasts with Gena Philibert-Ortega, promoting their joint venture GenealogyJourneys® (genaandjean.blogspot.com). With over 40 years of research experience, she is a former board member of APG and current President of its So. Cal. Chapter, on the Board of Directors of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, Western Regional Representative of the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, and President of the Corona Gen. Society. Her website: circlemending.org.
Sara Cochran has been conducting genealogical research for over 20 years, and her research has taken her into nearly every State in the USA as well as Ireland, Italy, Austria, and Britain. She holds a Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate as well as a Bachelor Degree in Library Science. She especially enjoys breaking down brick walls for her clients, discovering the stories of black sheep ancestors, and helping individuals preserve their photographic legacy. She transitioned to a career as a professional genealogist in 2016 after spending over 11 years working for a pre-employment background check company. She has served as President, Secretary, and Programs co-chair for the Genealogical Society of Riverside and is a member and in-coming treasurer of the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists. L.A. (Butch) Hibben, Certified Legacy Advisor, is the former Assistant Director of the Corona (CA) Family History Center. Knowing about his ancestry has been as much a part of his life as knowing basic life skills. Fortunate enough to speak with his forebears about their experiences as Arizona pioneers, Butch has remembered the stories and the roles his family played in the history of the states of Utah and Arizona. Butch, like his ancestor pioneers, was a trailblazer: for him it was in the field of computers. He became involved in the technology in the late 1950s while serving in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he continued in the field as a computer technician for many years until his retirement in 2008. An audio specialist and former square dance caller, it is no wonder that he was inspired to assist others in preserving their heritage when he was introduced to the Living Legacy Project in 2011. Again, he is carrying on his ancestors' tradition of pioneering - now in the world of on-line preservation. His web page: circlemending.org/living-legacy-project/.
